The Regional Pharmacy Institute (RPI) was established at Agartala during 1979 with the financial assistance of NEC (North Eastern Council) to cater Diploma course in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) throughout the North Eastern States with an intake of 60 (Sixty) capacity. Subsequently the Institute had upgraded into Bachelor in Pharmacy (B.Pharm) course in addition to D.Pharm course with the renaming of RPI as Regional Institute of Pharmaceutical Science & Technology (RIPSAT) during November, 1997 with an intake capacity of 30 (Thirty) capacity. The participating states are Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura. College is approved by Pharmacy Council of India, All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi. D. Pharm. course is affiliated to Tripura Board of Pharmacy Education (TBPE) and the rest of the courses are affiliated to Tripura University ( https://www.tripurauniv.ac.in/ )

Bachelor in Pharmacy (B.Pharm) Lateral Entry:-
Direct II Year B.Pharm course through Lateral Entry for D.Pharm holders:-
30 (thirty) out of which 12 (twelve) seats are for Tripura and rest 18 seats are for other N.E States.Two seats reserved for first and second rank holder of D.Pharm Course from RIPSAT (Regional Institute of Pharmaceutical Science & Technology) of the previous year respectively and one seat reserved for in-service pharmacist from Govt of Tripura & should apply THROUGH PROPER CHANNEL should have aggregate of 60% marks in the first and second year D. Pharmacy examination and age limit within 45 years and who has completed 5 years of service. Study leave for two years will be granted for in-service candidates from Govt. of Tripura.

B.Pharm (Practice Course):-
Bachelor of Pharmacy (Practice) [B.Pharm. (Practice)] shall consist of a degree certificate of having completed the course of study and passed examination as prescribed in these regulations for the purpose of additional qualification to be entered in the register of pharmacists
Duration of the course. – The duration of the course shall be of two academic years with each year spread over a period of not less than 180 working days
Minimum qualification for admission to the course –
a. A pass in Diploma course in Pharmacy from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India under section 12 of the Pharmacy Act, 1948.
b. A registered pharmacist.
c. A minimum of four years of pharmacy practice experience in a community or hospital pharmacy – a. A certificate from competent authority stating that the candidate is endorsed as registered pharmacist in the drug license of a pharmacy as proof of practice experience in case of community pharmacist.
d. A certificate from the Principal/Medical Superintendent/competent person of the Hospital/Health Unit stating that the candidate is working as a pharmacist will be accepted as proof of practice experience in case of hospital pharmacist

B. Pharm 4 years | UG | Candidate shall have passed 10+2 examination conducted by the respective state/central government authorities recognized as equivalent to 10+2 examination by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) with English as one of the subjects and Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (P.C.M) and or Biology (P.C.B / P.C.M.B.) as optional subjects individually. Any other qualification approved by the Pharmacy Council of India as equivalent to any of the above examinations. |
