The online application for admission to Paramedical Degree Courses in Tamil Nadu Government Medical Colleges and Government quota seats in Self-Financing Colleges affiliated with The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai, is available at www.tnhealth.tn.gov.in and www.tnmedicalselection.org. Candidates must regularly visit these websites for updates throughout the admission process, as the Selection Committee will not be held responsible for any consequences arising from failure to follow updates, notifications, or announcements published online. Those unable to access the online application can visit the nearest Government Medical College, Government Dental College, or Tamil Nadu Facilitation Centre (TFC) in districts without medical colleges, along with their parent or guardian and original certificates, to use the available facilities to apply. Applicants are strongly advised to download and carefully read the prospectus with their parents or guardians before completing the application, ensuring that all mandatory fields are properly filled. Incomplete or incorrectly filled applications will be rejected, and no requests for reconsideration will be entertained. In case of any confusion, candidates should refer to both Tamil and English versions of the prospectus for clarity.
Eligibility Criteria: The candidate must be a citizen of India and should have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) examination with the required science subjects, securing at least 40% aggregate marks. Candidates who have completed an equivalent examination other than the Tamil Nadu State Board or CBSE with the same subject combination must obtain an Eligibility Certificate from the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Guindy, Chennai, before joining the course. For candidates whose mark sheets show only grades, the minimum marks corresponding to the grades will be considered while calculating marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Botany and Zoology. Such candidates must obtain a certified statement of marks from the examination authority and upload it to indicate the actual marks secured. A normalization method will be applied to determine the minimum eligibility marks for candidates who have passed other equivalent examinations. Candidates who have completed the Higher Secondary Course through the vocational stream or as private/open school candidates are not eligible to apply for Paramedical Degree courses.

Note:- Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category must upload their Community Certificate issued by the competent authority not below the rank of Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) while submitting the online application. If a candidate claims ST status without uploading the valid community certificate, they will be treated as an Open Category candidate. Submission or production of a false community, nativity, or any other certificate at any stage during the course will lead to cancellation of allotment, expulsion from the course, and initiation of criminal proceedings against the candidate and parents as per law. Due to the increasing number of fake community certificates, the authenticity of the certificate must be verified and confirmed by the concerned authority before the completion of the first year, and candidates along with their parents must take necessary steps for this verification. If proof of authenticity is not received, the candidate will not be permitted to continue to the second year. All required certificates must be uploaded in the prescribed format in the online application, and community certificates issued by other states will not be considered, with such candidates being treated under the Open Category.
ONLINE COUNSELLING PROCEDURE (SINGLE WINDOW SYSTEM):- The online counselling schedule will be available only on the official website, and candidates must lock their choices of colleges and courses within the specified schedule. Admission to Paramedical Degree courses will be conducted through online counselling based on merit and the applicable rule of reservation. Counselling for Special Categories such as Ex-Servicemen and Persons with Disability will be conducted before the General Category, and no reallotment or change of college will be permitted for these special categories. To participate in the online counselling process, candidates must pay a processing fee of Rs. 250 through the online bank payment portal. During the choice filling process, candidates can select any number of eligible courses and colleges, and the seat allotment will be made according to their choices, merit rank, and reservation rules.
CATEGORIES OF SEATS:-
SPECIAL CATEGORIES : - Seats earmarked for the Special Categories will be allotted following the Horizontal Reservation. The seats will be allotted as per merit order in the concerned special category and those seats will be deducted in the concerned compartment (OC /BC / BCM / MBC / DNC / SC / SCA / ST) and the remaining seats will be allotted to the General Category. If adequate number of eligible candidates are not available under Special Category, the earmarked seats will be reverted back to general category. The other eligibility conditions for admission will be applicable in the case of General Category.
REPORTING : Candidates who are allotted seats must download their provisional allotment order and report in person to the allotted Medical College or Institution within the specified date and time, carrying the original certificates along with photocopies. Candidates who applied but did not participate or were not allotted a seat in the first round of counselling may participate in the subsequent counselling rounds. However, only those candidates who joined the course during the first phase of counselling will be eligible to attend later phases for re-allotment. The schedule for further counselling will be published on the official website, and no individual communication will be sent to candidates. Movement of candidates from self-financing colleges to Government colleges or between Government colleges will be based on merit and reservation rules. Vacancies arising after the first round or additional seats approved for new colleges will be filled through subsequent rounds of counselling. Re-allotment within self-financing colleges will not be permitted, and individual or mutual requests for transfer of course or college will not be entertained.
MERIT LIST:- The merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained by eligible candidates in the prescribed subjects of the qualifying examination, reduced to a base of 200 marks. Marks obtained from different education boards will be considered after applying the normalization process. For candidates who have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology will be used to prepare the general merit list for paramedical courses. For candidates who have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics along with other subjects (excluding Biology, Botany, and Zoology), the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics will be considered only for preparing the merit list for B.Pharmacy, B.ASLP, and B.Optom courses. In case two or more candidates obtain equal marks, the inter-se merit rules will be applied to determine their ranking. The Selection Committee will publish the merit list on the official website www.tnmedicalselection.org, and candidates will be allowed to participate in online counselling according to their merit rank and exercise their course and college options as per the eligibility criteria specified in the prospectus.

Eligibility Criteria: The candidate must be a citizen of India and should have completed 17 years of age on or before 31st December 2025. The candidate must have passed the Higher Secondary (+2) examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Botany and Zoology or Mathematics, securing a pass in both theory and practical examinations in the relevant subjects. In addition, passing the English subject is mandatory for candidates of all categories to be eligible for admission.

Vacancies arising after the first phase of counselling, as well as seats in newly introduced courses if any, will be filled from the waiting list through additional rounds of online counselling, if required. Individual or mutual requests for transfer of course or college will not be entertained. Candidates may exercise their options for seat allotment in any category subject to availability, and if seats are not available in a particular category, they may be placed on the waiting list for a specific course only. However, candidates cannot choose to be waitlisted for a particular college if seats are available in that category at the time of their turn.
