The Doctor of Pharmacy, also known as Pharm D, is a Professional Pharmacy doctoral program that is a requisite for candidates who want to practice pharmacy. In India, it was introduced in the year 2008 and it is a 6 years program after 10+2 or D. Pharm. It is slightly different from M.Pharm. Some unique features of Pharm D include- eligibility to register for a Ph.D., the prefix ‘Dr.’ to name, and a registrable qualification after completion of the course. Pharm D mostly includes a patient-centered curriculum and hence, patients will be benefited the most. The patients would be able to know all the information about their disease, drugs, and lifestyle modifications for the disease in the future which would definitely increase the prognosis of the patients.
