B. Pharmacy Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the Mathematics/ Biology subject securing at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together. Provided that a student should complete the age of 17 years on st or before 31 December of the year of admission to the course.Admissions to the B. Pharmacy 1st year degree course shall be made on the basis of the merit of HPCET for the corresponding year, and if seats remain vacant after exhausting HPCET merit, the University will decide the applicable procedure for admission. The minimum cut-off marks required to seek admission on the basis of HPCET are 40 marks for General Category and 30 marks for Reserved Categories, while admission on the basis of 10+2 shall be as per PCI norms or HPTU norms.
M. PharmacyRecognized Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent degree obtaining at least 55% marks (50% marks in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) at the qualifying examination.Admission to the M. Pharmacy degree course shall be based on the merit of a valid GPAT score, and if seats remain vacant after exhausting the GPAT merit list, they will be filled on the basis of merit in the B. Pharmacy degree from a recognized university. The minimum cut-off marks required for admission on the basis of B. Pharmacy examinations are 55% for General Category and 50% for Reserved Categories, wherein the percentage indicates the marks obtained by the candidate in the bachelor degree examination out of the total marks assigned.
D. PharmacyCandidate must have completed your 10+2 (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, and either Biology or Mathematics as compulsory subjects from a recognized board. A minimum aggregate score of 45% to 50% is generally required, though this can vary by institution. Admission Procedure

(a) Candidates seeking admission to various courses for the academic year 2025–26 must apply online using the prescribed application form. Only those who submit their applications online before the last date and meet the eligibility criteria will be considered for admission. A separate application must be submitted for each program. Candidates who have obtained the minimum cutoff marks in the National Level Test–2025 or the qualifying examination are required to pay a non-refundable application processing fee of ₹1600 for General category candidates (including EWS and OBC) and ₹800 for SC/ST/BPL category candidates before submitting the online application. Candidates applying through both the National Level Test–2025 and HPCET–2025 must also pay the same fee structure. However, candidates applying only through HPCET–2025 are exempted from paying the application processing fee. All applicants must carefully read the instructions and strictly adhere to the guidelines before filling out the application form. For application submission and counselling-cum-admission details, candidates should visit the University website at https://www.himtu.ac.in.

(b)The applicant must clearly indicate in the application form whether he/she belongs to any reserved category; if no category is specified, the application will be considered under the General category. Candidates seeking admission under Management Quota Seats must apply directly to the respective Private Affiliated College, submitting all required documents and certificates, along with the scorecard of the National Level Entrance Test-2025, HPCET-2025, or the qualifying examination. The college management is permitted to admit only those candidates who meet the minimum admission and eligibility criteria specified in Table No. 2. If any candidate who does not meet the prescribed criteria is admitted under the management quota, the University shall not be responsible for regularizing such admission, and the candidate shall bear full responsibility for any resulting consequences. Moreover, the college is not permitted to alter any provisions stated in the Admission Brochure, including those related to eligibility, fee structure, or refund policies, during the admission process.

Admission of NRI / Foreign Candidates

(a) NRI and Foreign students who meet the eligibility criteria of their chosen program may be considered for admission under this category without appearing in the Entrance Test. Their admission shall be based on a merit list prepared from the marks obtained in the qualifying examination.

(b) Interested applicants must submit their applications in the prescribed format.

(c) Seat Reservation:

  • 5% of seats within the sanctioned intake are reserved for NRIs (Non-Resident Indians), their spouses, dependent sons/daughters, including legally adopted children.
  • 15% of seats are reserved for Foreign Nationals/passport holders, over and above the normal intake.

(d) The fee and other charges for NRI and Foreign students shall be as notified by the Government of Himachal Pradesh from time to time.

(e) Non-Resident Indian (NRI):

  • An applicant shall be considered an NRI as per the Income Tax Laws of India. Any amendments in such laws shall be applicable from the time of submission of the application until the completion of the program.
  • NRI-sponsored candidates (popularly termed as "NRI Sponsored Candidates") are not permitted.

(f) Foreign Passport Holder (FPH) / Foreign Candidates:
An applicant shall be considered a Foreign Candidate if they:
i. Hold a valid foreign passport.
ii. Possess a valid visa issued by a Competent Authority of the Indian Government stating the purpose of their stay in India.

(g) General Guidelines for Admission:
i. The minimum eligibility criteria for NRI and Foreign students will be the same as those applicable to Indian students, as specified in the University Admission Brochure.
ii. All transcripts must be submitted in English translation, duly attested.
iii. Candidates applying from abroad must get their transcripts attested by the accredited government agency in their country and certified by the Indian Embassy/Consulate.
iv. Candidates applying from India must have their documents attested by the Embassy/High Commission/Consulate of their respective country in India.
v. Applications without proper attestation will be rejected.
vi. Upon admission, applicants must produce their Student Visa within one month. Failure to obtain the visa within the stipulated period will result in cancellation of admission. A copy of the visa must be submitted to the Office of the Dean Academic, Himachal Pradesh Technical University.
vii. Foreign diplomats seeking admission will be governed by the rules and procedures notified by the Government of India from time to time.
viii. Every foreign student must register with the Foreigners Regional Registration Officer (FRRO), New Delhi within 14 days of their first arrival in India.
ix. The admission category chosen in the application form will be final and cannot be changed later.
x. Once admitted, foreign students must pay the prescribed fees for their category throughout the program duration. The University reserves the right to revise the fee at any time.
xi. NRI students must continue paying the applicable NRI category fees throughout their course, even if their status changes from NRI to Non-NRI.
xii. If NRI category seats remain vacant, they will be allotted to general candidates as per merit. However, such candidates will pay the general category fee, and no change of Institution/Course will be permitted under any circumstances.

(h) Attested certificates & documents to be submitted with the application form:

  • Affidavit on Rs. 10 stamp paper from the parent for financial support
  • NRI Status Certificate issued by the Indian Embassy in the concerned country
  • In case an intervening period/gap is involved, a certificate/affidavit issued by a Class- I Gazetted Officer/Notary Public shall be required or the entire intervening period/gap showing candidate’s pre occupation after leaving the Institution last attended.

Enrolment and Registration

Students must fill out the University-prescribed registration-cum-examination form, indicating all courses to be pursued during the semester, including backlog, extra, or optional courses if any. They must also pay the required fees including examination fees and clear any outstanding dues related to the mess, library, hostel, or other departments. The completed form must be submitted, and the registration roll signed as per the schedule notified by the respective College or Institution. A student will be eligible for enrolment only upon clearing all dues and fulfilling academic requirements from previous semesters, provided they are not debarred on disciplinary grounds. The list of registered students for the semester must be submitted by the College/Institution/Department to the University within 15 days from the last date of registration for further processing and necessary action.

Fee

1.H.P. Technical University Fee: Every student admitted to any UG or PG program has to pay non-refundable fee of Rs. 3,000/- at the time of admission and per year as University Fee and Rs. 1,500/- as one time University Registration Fee.
2.The University fee must be paid online at the time of counselling. This amount will be adjusted against the final fee payment at the respective college or institute. The University registration fees should be submitted to the host institution, which will then forward the fees along with the necessary student documents to the University.
3.Candidates admitted under management quota seats must pay the University fee along with the registration fee at the respective college or institution.
4.The Fee and other charges to be deposited by the students in the Government/Private Colleges or Institutions will be as notified by the Government of Himachal Pradesh.
5.No Institution will charge any amount over and above the fee fixed by the Government and University. Any violation in this regard would tantamount to charging capitation fee leading to penal action against the defaulting institution.
6.The girl students admitted in Govt. College(s) and University Off Campuses (other than self- financing courses) are exempted from paying of Tuition fee.
7.Physically Challenged students admitted in Govt. College(s) and University Off Campuses (other than self- financing courses) are exempted from paying of Admission Page 29 of 45 & Tuition fee.

Steps to fill Online Counselling-cum-Admission

(i) Create your account by clicking on the Sign Up tab available on the Login Page. A User Registration form will appear.

(a) Fill all the required fields i.e. Name, Date of Birth, email-id, Mobile No, Password etc.

(b) After submitting the form, Username and Password will be displayed on the screen. The candidates are advised to note down their Username and Password for future reference. The candidates will get their login details on the registered e-mail ids and mobile numbers.

2.The candidate must fill in the required information in the login detail page i.e., Username and Password. After clicking on the login button, the Counselling form will open with different Tabs i.e., - Personal Information - Qualifying Exam - Category Claim - Branch/ Institution Preference - Preview And Fee Payment.
3.In the Personal Information Page, there will be a pop-up, which will ask whether you have given the HPCET-2025 or not.
4.If you have appeared for HPCET-2025, you must enter your HPCET-2025 roll number. Your marks and personal details will be automatically fetched based on the roll number. If your total marks are above the qualifying cut-off, you will be eligible to apply for counselling based on your HPCET-2025 score.
5.If your marks are below the cut-off, you will not be eligible to apply for counselling on the basis of HPCET-2025 and will be logged out of the system.
6.If the candidate selects 'Indian' as their nationality, a dropdown list of Indian states will be displayed. If 'Others' is selected, a text box will appear where the candidate must enter the name of their country.
7.Check all the details filled by you/auto-fetched by the system before going to the next page.
8.After Click Next Tab, “Qualifying Exam” page will open.
9.On the Qualifying Exam page, select either 'Under Graduation' or 'Post Graduation' under the 'Applying For' section, as applicable. Then, choose the appropriate 'Entry Level' by selecting either 'Direct Entry' or 'Lateral Entry'. After that, select your desired course from the 'Program Applied For' dropdown list to proceed with the counselling application.

After selecting the course, you must choose the basis on which you wish to attend Counselling-2025 under the section 'Please Select the Basis for Applying for Counselling-2025', as per the options displayed on the screen.

(a) If you select the 'National Level Test' option (if available), you will be required to enter the relevant details.

(b) If you select the 'Qualifying Exam' option (if available), no additional information is required."

11.After this, you have to fill required details in the Academic Qualification.
12.After clicking on Next Tab, the “Category Claim” page will open. And in the Category Claim page, you have to select your Category and Subcategory after selecting Quota.
13.Under the 'Quota Under Which Applied' section, select the appropriate option based on your eligibility. All India Quota, HP State Quota, Kashmiri Migrants, or NRI. After selecting the quota, upload the required supporting documents. Then, choose your Category and Subcategory, and upload the relevant documents accordingly.
14."After clicking 'Next', if your marks in the Academic Qualification and National Level Test/Qualifying Exam are below the cut-off, a pop-up message will appear indicating whether you are eligible or not eligible to proceed with filling the counselling form." If you are not eligible, then you have to go to the “Qualifying Exam” page and check your filled details properly. If you are eligible, then the Branch/ Institution Preference page will open.
15.In the Branch/ Institution Preference page, you have to fill in preferences as per your choice for the selected course.
16.Your selected preferences will be displayed in the 'Selected Branches Order' table, in the same sequence in which you made your selections. And you can clear your preferences by clicking on the “Reset Preference(s)” button.
17.If you are satisfied with the preferences filled by you, then you have to lock them by clicking on “Lock Preference(s) (Check before submit)” button. In the After clicking on Next tab, the “Preview And Fee Payment” page will open, where you can review the complete (filled) form.
18.On the 'Preview and Fee Payment' page, under the 'Action' section, you will find two options: 'Pay' and 'Edit Application Form'. If you notice any discrepancies in your application, click on 'Edit Application Form' to make the necessary corrections.
19.If all the details entered on the 'Preview and Fee Payment' page are correct, click the 'Pay' button to proceed with the fee payment. You will be redirected to the Payment Gateway, where the fee can be paid online using Internet Banking, Credit/Debit Cards, UPI, etc. After a successful payment, you must log in again to download or print the Counselling-cum-Admission Form 2025 in PDF format.
20.If the PDF of the Counselling-cum-Admission Form 2025 is not generated immediately after successful payment, the candidate should wait for at least 2 working days. Once the payment is verified, the candidate can log in to their dashboard to download the PDF of the application form. If the PDF is still not available after 2 working days, the candidate may contact the technical helpline at 01972-226914 or email [email protected]. Please provide the following mandatory details: Counselling-cum-Admission 2025 Application Form Number, Transaction Number, Transaction Date, and Payment Proof.
21.If multiple payments are received by the University for the same Counselling-cum-Admission Form 2025, the excess amount will be refunded after the completion of the online form process. Candidates can download the refund form from the official website of H.P. Technical University, complete it, and send it via email to [email protected]. For any refund-related queries, candidates may contact the HPTU Finance Branch at 01972-226907. Please ensure that all the information displayed on the Confirmation Page is accurate before proceeding.

Procedure for submission of online application form

3.The candidates who are interested to appear in Counselling on the basis of National Level Test, on the basis of HPCET-2025 and On the Basis of Qualifying Examination (as applicable) must tick the relevant (one, two or all) options available in the Counselling-cum-Admission form in the field “Select the Admission Criteria”. Counselling-cum-Admission form processing fee will be applicable as per the selection(s) opted by the candidate.
4.Candidates who meet the eligibility and admission criteria for UG and PG courses may apply online based on one of the following, as applicable: National Level Tests (JEE, NATA, GATE, GPAT), HPCET-2025, or the Qualifying Examination (10+2 or Graduation).
5.No fee is chargeable from the candidates who are applying on the basis of HPCET-2025.
6.Counselling-cum-Admission form processing fee (Non-refundable) of Rs.1600/- is payable by the candidates belonging to General/Economically Weaker Section/OBC category and Rs. 800/- from the candidates of reserved category i.e., SC/ST and BPL/IRDP.
