ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:-
For OC / BC / BCM / MBC / DNC Candidates : -
Pass in Higher Secondary Course with Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Botany and Zoology or Mathematics not less than 40 % aggregate marks.
For SC / SCA / ST Candidates: -
Pass in Higher Secondary Course with Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Botany and Zoology (or) Mathematics
10% of the total number of seats sanctioned for the B.Pharm course are earmarked for B.Pharm (Lateral Entry) candidates both in Government and Self Financing Institutions.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:-
-For OC/BC/BCM/MBC/DNC CATEGORIES:- Candidates should have an aggregate of 40% marks in the first and second year D.Pharm. Examination with a pass in H.S.C.
(or)
The individual pass mark in Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Botany & Zoology or Mathematics both in theory and practical with not less than 40% aggregate marks in the above subjects in the qualifying H.S.C. examination (Academic Stream) with a pass in D.Pharm Course.
-For SC/SCA/ST CATEGORIES: Candidates must have obtained individual pass marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Botany & Zoology (or) Mathematics both in Theory & Practical with a minimum of 35% marks in the above subjects with a pass in D. Pharm Course.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:-
-Candidates should possess a B.Pharmacy Degree awarded by The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University or any other University recognized as equivalent thereto by The TamilNadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University / Pharmacy Council of India. Candidates who have qualified from other universities should obtain and produce an Eligibility Certificate from The Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R. Medical University at the time of admission, failing which they will not be considered for admission.
-Candidates seeking admission to the M.Pharmacy course should have obtained not less than 55% for OC, BC, BCM, MBC, and 50% for SC, SCA, and ST of the total marks obtained in all semesters of subject marks taken together in the B.Pharmacy Course. In case of failure (s) the pass marks in the subsequent (attempts) shall be taken for calculation purposes. A number of attempts are not considered for the calculation of marks.
-A candidate who has already completed or acquired a Postgraduate Degree in any branch of M.Pharmacy course or is undergoing a Postgraduate course in any branch of M.Pharmacy is not eligible to apply for any other branch of M.Pharmacy course.

DURATION OF THE COURSE:-
a) Pharm. D: The duration of the course shall be six academic years (five years of study and one year of internship or residency)
b) Pharm.D. (Post Baccalaureate): This is a graduate-entry course for the 4th year of the Pharm.D. Course and the student should undergo the Pharm.D. Post Baccalaureate Programme for three academic years (fourth, fifth, and sixth years of the Pharm.D. Programme) (two years of academic study and one year of internship or residency)
ELIGIBILITY CERTIFICATE:-
For Pharm.D & Pharm. D (Post Baccalaureate) the Candidate who has passed any qualifying examination other than the Higher Secondary Course Examination conducted by the Government of Tamil Nadu and other than B. Pharmacy degree awarded by the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University shall obtain an Eligibility Certificate from the University by remitting the prescribed fees along with the filled-in Application Form (which can be downloaded from the university website, Marksheet, Transfer Certificate, and other relevant documents required by the University, before seeking admission to any one of the affiliated Institutions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION FOR ADMISSION:-
a) Pharm . D. Part-I Course – A pass in any of the following examinations –
(i) A pass in 10 +2 examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects:
Mathematics or Biology.
(ii) A pass in the D.Pharm course from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India under section 12 of the Pharmacy Act.
(iii) Any other qualification approved by the Pharmacy Council of India as equivalent to any of the above examinations.
AGE:- Provided that a student should complete the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission to the course.
There shall be reservation of seats for the students belonging to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and other Backward Classes in accordance with the instructions issued by the Central Government / State Government as the case may be from time to time.
b) PHARM D. (POST BACCALAUREATE) COURSE:- (GRADUATE ENTRY LEVEL)
A pass in B.Pharm from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India under section 12 of the Pharmacy Act:
There shall be reservation of seats for the students belonging to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and other Backward Classes in accordance with the instructions issued by the Central Government / State Government Administration as the case may be from time to time.
