Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) Conduct counseling for Pharmacy and Other courses

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) is a government body responsible for conducting entrance examinations and managing admission processes for various professional courses in Karnataka. It ensures transparent, merit-based admissions for undergraduate and postgraduate programs in fields like engineering, pharmacy, medical, dental, agriculture, and management. KEA conducts key exams such as KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test) and PGCET (Postgraduate Common Entrance Test), and oversees centralized counseling and seat allotment for government, aided, and private institutions across the state, helping streamline and regulate the admission process efficiently.

B-Pharma Eligibility Criteria: Candidates should have passed 2nd PUC / 12thStd in Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Physics Chemistry, Mathematics (PCM /PCB) with minimum 45% marks in aggregate for GM candidates, 40% for SC/ST, Category-I and OBC or passed Diploma in Pharmacy examination from an Institution approved by the Pharmacy council of India under section 12 of the Pharmacy act and has secured a minimum of 45% of marks for GM candidates (40% for SC/ST, Category-I and OBC (2A, 2B, 3A and 3B)candidates). Merit will be determined on the basis of performance of the candidates in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects or Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects i.e., PCB or PCM marks whichever is highest in Common Entrance Test 2024. Common rank list will be prepared and published separately for admission to B-Pharma. Candidates who have passed Diploma in Pharmacy course seeking admission to B-Pharma should compulsorily submit their photocopy of D-Pharma (final year) Marks card on which CET number boldly written to KEA on or before 30-05-2024. Failing which Rank will not be assigned to the candidate.

Pharma-D Eligibility Criteria: Candidates should have passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or passed in Diploma in Pharmacy examination from an Institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India under Section 12 of the Pharmacy Act. Merit will be determined on the basis of performance of the candidates in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects or Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects i.e., PCB or PCM marks whichever is highest in the Common Entrance Test 2024. Common rank list will be prepared and published separately for admission to Pharma-D.

Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) conducts counseling in three phases: Round 1, Round 2, and the Mop-Up Round. If seats remain vacant even after the Mop-Up Round, KEA may organize additional rounds, such as the Stray Vacancy Round

M-Pharma Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for admission to the M.Pharm course, the candidate must be a citizen of India and should have been born in Karnataka. Candidates born in Karnataka include those whose father or mother is of Karnataka origin and has resided in the state for at least ten years, with a valid certificate from the concerned Tahsildar. The candidate must have passed the B.Pharm degree examination from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences or any other recognized Indian university established by law in Karnataka or any pharmacy institution located in Karnataka, recognized as equivalent by RGUHS, the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), or AICTE. They must have secured at least 55% aggregate marks (50% for SC/ST Cat-I candidates) over the four years of qualifying examinations.

Additionally, candidates currently in the final year of the B.Pharm course in PCI and AICTE-recognized colleges are also eligible to appear for the entrance test as per the government order. Candidates who have appeared for the final B.Pharm examination and are awaiting results must produce the result copy and hall ticket during document verification. Failing to do so will result in disqualification from the PGET eligibility. Lastly, candidates should not have attained the age of 45 years on the last date for submission of the PG Entrance Test application.

Method of applying online:

First Phase:

Step 1: Candidates have to select “Online Application” by browsing URL on Website http://kea.kar.nic.in.
Step 2: Candidates have to click on “New User? Click Here to Register” on the home of online application form. Candidates will have to provide all the required information in the candidate registration form and submit. After successful registration, candidates will receive an Application number and User-ID to their registered mobile phone number and email-id and also same will be displayed on the screen. Later on candidates have to create their own password for further entry of online application.
Step 3: A Login Prompt will be displayed and candidates are required to enter the User ID and Password created by them and Login.
Step 4: On successful login by the candidates “Student information” will be displayed, in which the candidates have to start entering the required information.
Step 5: Once the candidates complete the student information entries, they will have to save the entries made.
Step 6: The candidates will enter the all the study details and select “save and next” button.
Step 7: After successful saving the study details, the candidates will have to upload the scanned images of Photograph, candidate signature, candidate Left Hand Thumb Impression and Parent Signature and select “save and next” button. After completion of the above steps, the candidates have take the Draft Printout, carefully verify the entries made by them and if any changes are required they can do so by login in any number of times before selecting the declaration.

Second Phase: In this phase, the candidate will select the declaration, read and understand it completely and then select “Submit” button. After submission select the bank challan, download and take a printout of the challan and make the payment in the respective bank.

Step 1: After completion of entry of all the details candidate’s will receive an application ID and Password to their registered email address and also the same information will be displayed on the screen.
Step 2: Candidates have to upload the scanned copy of recent passport size color Photograph and Signature in JPG / JPEG format separately. (Photograph Captured on the mobile phone can also be updated)
Step 3: Candidates have to take the printout of the Challan copy which is in triplicate. Candidates of Karnataka origin have to pay prescribed fee. The candidates have to pay the requisite fee in any of the branch of specified Banks. The bank will retain their copy of the Challan respectively and handover the remaining two copies of the Challan to the candidates. Or the candidates can pay the fees through net-banking.

Important Notice: If any information in the online application is found to be false or incorrect, the application and allotted seat (if any) will be cancelled at any stage, and the entire fee paid will be forfeited. Caste/Category and Income details provided in the application will be considered final for rank and seat allotment—no changes will be allowed later. Original Caste/Category and Income Certificates must be produced during document verification. If the uploaded photograph does not match the candidate during the exam or admission process, they will not be allowed to appear for the test or receive a seat allotment.
