Uttarakhand Technical University, Dehradun conduct counseling for Pharmacy and Other courses for admission 2025-26

Uttarakhand Technical University (UTU), Dehradun was established in 2005 by the Government of Uttarakhand. QUALIFICATIONS AND ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

B.PHARM- Candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination conducted by a recognized state or central education authority, and deemed equivalent to the 10+2 examination by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). The qualifying examination must include English as a compulsory subject, along with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) and/or Biology (PCB/PCMB) as optional subjects studied individually. Additionally, any other qualification recognized as equivalent by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) will also be considered valid for eligibility.

D.PHARM- Candidates must have successfully completed their 10+2 (or equivalent) examination from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Mathematics, obtaining at least 45% aggregate marks.

M.PHARM- The candidate must have passed the B.Pharm degree examination from a university established by law in India and from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). The candidate must have secured a minimum of 55% aggregate marks over the four years of the B.Pharm program (50% for candidates belonging to reserved categories).

DOMICILE REQUIREMENTS

Candidates who have passed or are appearing in the qualifying examination from institutions outside Uttarakhand but hold a domicile certificate of Uttarakhand are eligible to apply under the Uttarakhand quota. At the time of counseling, a valid Domicile Certificate issued by the competent authority must be presented. Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination from Uttarakhand Technical Board or Universities are also eligible for lateral entry seats; however, they will not be entitled to any reservation benefits. In the event of unavailability of eligible Uttarakhand candidates, the vacant lateral entry seats may be filled by eligible candidates from other states, provided they have passed a 2- or 3-year Diploma (as per AICTE norms) in any branch of engineering/technology except Agriculture Engineering, from institutions recognized by the State or Central Government, and considered equivalent by the Uttarakhand Board of Technical Education.

RESERVATIONS

In government-funded institutions, reservation for Uttarakhand domicile candidates will be applicable as per the rules and regulations of the Uttarakhand Government. For All India seats, reservations will be implemented in accordance with the prevailing Government of India norms.

CATEGORY

Candidates belonging to the General Category, as well as those claiming reservation under any category, must clearly indicate their category in the application form. No request for a change of category will be entertained at a later stage. All claimed categories must be supported by valid and relevant certificates, which must be produced at the time of counselling. Failure to produce the required documents will result in the candidate being considered under the General Category. Only certificates issued in the prescribed format as per Uttarakhand State Government guidelines will be accepted.

FEE

The University grants affiliation to institutions for various programmes approved by the respective regulatory bodies such as AICTE, PCI, and BCI, after obtaining No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the State Government. However, the fee structure for each programme and institution is determined by the Fee Regulatory Committee constituted by the State Government. Students are therefore advised to refer to the official website of the respective institute for accurate and updated information regarding the fees for specific programmes.

Specifications for photograph to be submitted are as below:

iii.Photograph should be taken in a white/very light colored background.
iv.The photograph needs to display full front view of the face. Please look directly into the camera with a natural expression.
v.Please avoid with reflection of shadow on the face with red eyes.
vi.The photograph needs to be printed on a high quality paper with at least 600 dpi resolutions.
vii.The colors must possess the natural appearance and skin tone.
viii.The photograph must not have kinks, scratches and stains.

CHOICE FILLING FOR COUNSELLING

At the time of final admission, as per the schedule notified by the University, candidates are required to submit their complete list of preferred choices including the Institute and Programme/Branch—in the order of preference. No request for change in preferences will be entertained after the final submission of the admission application form.

COUNSELLING

The main counseling is being conducted in online mode at Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand University of Technology, Dehradun. The candidate who has the minimum eligibility qualification for admission or whose minimum eligibility qualification is displayed in the main form can participate in the counseling. In this process, the candidate will have to first register on the counseling portal and create his login ID and password. All the candidates will have to deposit ₹ 2000/- as counseling fee.

In the first counseling, if a candidate is allotted a seat based on his/her choice, then he/she will have 3 options as follows-

1. Freeze- On choosing the Freeze option by the candidate, he/she will have to deposit ₹ 10000/- on the specified web portal for online admission and it will be mandatory for him/her to take admission by appearing at the allotted institute within the prescribed date with all the original certificates and documents and depositing the remaining fee. Also, that candidate will also be out of the counselling process. However, if after choosing the Freeze option on the portal, the candidate does not appear for admission at the allotted institute within the prescribed period, in that case he/she will not be considered admitted and can participate in the counselling of the next round by paying the counselling fee (non-refundable) of Rs 2000/- again.

2. Float- Even if the candidate chooses Float option, the candidate will have to deposit ₹ 10000/- online and will have to wait for the seat allocation of the second counseling for better seat allocation (seat of the option above the allotted options from the filled options). If the candidate is not allotted a better seat in the second counseling, then in that case the candidate will be again allotted the same old seat and he will have to wait for the seat allocation of the third counseling for a better seat. If the candidate is not allotted a better seat in the third counseling, then in that case the candidate will be again allotted the same old seat and it will be mandatory for the candidate to take admission on the same seat by appearing at the allotted institute within the prescribed date with all the original certificates and documents and depositing the remaining fee. Apart from the above, if the candidate is allotted a better seat in the second or third counseling, then he will have the option to freeze the seat as above. On freezing the seat, it will be mandatory for the candidate to appear at the allotted institute within the prescribed date with all the original certificates and documents and depositing the remaining fee and take admission. Also, that candidate will be out of the counselling process.

Note: Candidates are instructed to deposit the amount of ₹ 10000/- (ten thousand) to be deposited online from their own bank account or their parents' bank account only. In unavoidable circumstances, the refund of the amount will be returned to the same bank account.

3. Withdraw- If a candidate chooses the Withdraw option, that candidate will be eliminated from the counselling process. To participate in the next counselling, such a candidate will have to register again as a new candidate and deposit the counselling fee (Counseling Fee-Non Refundable) ₹ 2000/- through online mode and fill the options from the options available at that time.

Submission of online application form will be announced on University on its website www.uktech.ac.in.

i.In case the information provided by the candidate is found wrong in the application form, his/her application will be summarily rejected. If any candidate secures admission in the college/institute/University by providing wrong information in his/her application, detected later on in due course, his/her admission will be cancelled at the cost and risk of the candidate.
ii.Candidates’ eligibility is purely provisional and is subject to the fulfilment of eligibility criteria as prescribed in this Information Brochure, during subsequent verifications of his/her documents at counselling, admission or afterwards.
iii.Instructions in the Information Brochure are liable to change based on decisions consciously taken by the Admission Committee/Admission Counselling Board/Technical Education Department, Uttarakhand Government from time to time. There is no equity or any rights that are / or deemed to be arising in favour of candidate.
iv.The candidate must ensure before filling the application form that he/she fulfils the eligibility requirements for admission/appearing in the entrance examination. Change of category is not permitted at later stage. The fee once paid shall not be refunded in any case, even not in the event of rejection of application for any reason. Only eligible candidates will be considered for admission. In case of any admission offer issued based on false information or inadvertent mistake, the same will be cancelled by University and no claim shall be entertained.
v.The candidates are advised to give their complete mailing address, ID proof details and correct contact telephone numbers and email in the application form.
vi.The records of the Entrance Examination (JEE-Mains as procured from the organizing agency) & Counselling data shall be preserved only for a period of one year from the date of the Entrance examination (JEE-Mains).
vii.In all the matters relating to counseling and admission, the decision of Admission Committee/Admission Counselling Board / University as the case may be, shall be final.
viii.In case of any ambiguity in interpretation of any of the instructions/terms/rules/criteria the determination of eligibility/conduct of examinations/registration of candidate/information contained herein, the interpretation of the Admission Committee / Admission Counselling Board / University as the case may be, will be final and binding.
